A <a href="https://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_goods" target="_blank">virtual currency</a> called <strong>Creation Club Credits</strong> was sold within it, which was used to purchase unique <a href="https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Add-ons" target="_blank">add-ons</a> called <strong>Creations</strong>. Each Creation is official <a href="https://en.uesp.net/wiki/General:Bethesda" target="_blank">Bethesda</a> content, developed with third party developers and contracted <a href="https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim_Mod:Mods" target="_blank">mod</a> authors. As official content, Creations do not disable <a href="https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Achievements" target="_blank">achievement</a> acquisition.</p><p></p><p>The service entered beta on September 28, 2017 and officially launched on October 4, 2017. It was never available for <a href="https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Skyrim_VR" target="_blank">Skyrim VR</a>.</p><p></p><p>All 74 Creations are included in the <a href="https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Anniversary_Edition" target="_blank">Anniversary Edition</a>. Special Edition and <a href="https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Switch" target="_blank">Switch</a> users also receive free access to four Creations: <a href="https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Fishing" target="_blank">Fishing</a>, <a href="https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Rare_Curios" target="_blank">Rare Curios</a>, <a href="https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Survival_Mode" target="_blank">Survival Mode</a>, and <a href="https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Saints_%26_Seducers" target="_blank">Saints & Seducers</a>. Several other discounted Creations were offered for free either on a permanent or temporary basis. On Switch, the Anniversary Upgrade with all the Creations is available, but not the Creation Club itself.</p><p></p><p>As of December 5th, 2023, Creation Club has been retired and the Verified Creator program is intended to be its replacement.
